FAQs

Should I bring my passport?

While you’re unlikely to need your passport once you’re in Italy, we recommend carrying a photocopy of it along with a government-issued ID for identification purposes, just to be safe.

What should I present to my guide when the tour starts?

You’ll receive a digital confirmation with your tour details and any pre-purchased tickets. There’s usually no need to print your ticket unless specifically instructed. Just arrive at the meeting point on time and show your confirmation on your phone.

Are meals and drinks included in the tour?

Most Pompeii tours focus on the archaeological site and do not include food or drinks. However, private tours can be customized to include lunch stops, and your guide can recommend excellent nearby restaurants or cafés in Pompeii or Naples.

Where is the meeting point for the tour?

Your booking confirmation will indicate the exact meeting location. Many group tours meet near the main entrance to Pompeii (Porta Marina), while private tours can often arrange pickup from your hotel, Naples train station, or another agreed location.

Is wearing a face mask required?

Masks are no longer required in most public areas in Italy, including Pompeii. You may still see some visitors wearing masks in crowded areas, and you are welcome to do so for personal comfort.

Should I tip the guide or driver?

Tipping is appreciated in Italy but not mandatory. If you enjoyed your tour, a gratuity of around 10% for your guide or driver is a kind gesture.
